By now all of you know that when I’m not blogging I’m a self-taught Fashion Designer. Creating clothing has been a dream of mine since I was a very young girl, can’t place an age on it because well, my memory just isn’t that great! The number one thing I have never forgotten was my passion for the insides and outs of fashion.
I consider myself a formal wear designer but have recently explored the more casual side of designing without dismissing my love for all things glam. My talent has and is still growing, I’ve still got so much to learn but starting out hand sewing pushed me to take my talent further.
This series will be about pieces I have and am still creating so you can get to know each piece, what inspired the piece and how long it took for me to create the piece. Also, officially putting my brand out for you to buy!

The Item

I would like to introduce you guys to the ‘SSS-SKIRT’ ! (SEE WHAT I DID THERE)
A high waist snake-skin print skirt with a zipper closure!
The #1 thing that sets this skirt apart from most you’ll see on the internet is not only is it handmade but you won’t have to worry about the hassle of wondering if it will fit you because it will be made to your EXACT measurements.

What Inspired Me?
The snake-skin print has easily become one of the most popular prints starting from mid to late 2018, not only is it fun and easy to style, the print its self is such a beautiful enhancement to any regular statement piece and can be styled for any season. When I came across this fabric I immediately fell in love and got 4 yards! I had to have it! I was inspired by the fabric and the way it felt to the touch, I knew I wanted to do a classic casual high waist piece that can quickly become a staple.

How Long Did It Take?
Once I laid my fabric out and knew what I wanted to create, I immediately began cutting out each piece as well as the lining pieces. Because the majority of this skirt is sewn by hand it took about 4 hours total and added the band and zipper in later. In total it took one day to fully complete this skirt.

I can’t wait for your store! Any chance you could make this for a curvy girl like me? I’m a size 12 or 14 in jeans, so I have no idea what size I need, but I love it!

I’ve done a lot of sewing but I’ve always been too scared to make my own pattern.
